Two Poems for February


Poem One: Found Poem. Directions: Create a found poem using as many words as you possibly can from each list. You have a masculine list to work with and a feminine list. Suggested subjects: love, being against love, stereotypes, dating, stomach butterflies, desire....KEEP IT CLEAN. KEEP YOUR AUDIENCE IN MIND. Due February 13th.

FEMININE: always ascher, tangerine joy, horizon, haute chocolate, pearl harbor, flash of fuchsia, wild thing, chapel of love, china glaze, pink diamond, racing rubies, luminous mooon, aqua chrome, mermaid's chest, fairy peach, red velvet, rose quartz, mighty mauve, something blue, peach parfait, sterling silver rose, they think I'm only a waitress, dark lights, romeo and juliet, cupcake, and heartbeat.

MASCULINE: Voodoo, essence, paradiso inferno, live jazz, silver ice, recovery, re-load, kilo, blue, coolwater, taxi, aspen, cafe, fujyama, one man show, sandalwood, royal copenhagen, cruiser, callvin klien, hugo boss, diesel fuel, black, In motion, contradiction, ferrari black, and essential.

Poem Two: Create a villanelle, sestina, rondel, or sonnet based upon a conflict concerning love. Please look up the definition of each to make certain you have the form correct. Make sure you make use of meter, rhythm, alliteration, assonance, onomatopoeia, cacophony, euphony, consonance, imagery, irony, diction, concrete details, and abstract words. Due February 20th.
